i am wondering if there is some way possible for wbts to be billed for medical expenses caused by the psychological harm inflicted when dubs end up in dr. offices or hospital as a result of spiritual trauma and spiritual warfare?.
seems to me that we could make them take some responsibility.. (i am not providing the link because this is second-hand information).
bottom line:
The JW religion/sect/cult or however you classify contributes negatively to ones mental well being.
Why is this?
A friend's daughter committed suicide because she "did not fit in" at school. I wonder what lead to her feeling that she did not fit in?
This makes me angry.

(this story fits a late 90's me) --- it's a dreary grey afternoon and the last desperate drops of rainare splattering themselves against the window of the small town cafe.
i stare into the bottom of my coffee and swirl the speckleddark grounds into a tiny hurricane in a pale chipped cup and smile.
the sisters across from me are laughing.

Even though my doubts began to limit my participation in the ministry for the past several years, when I did go out it was the strangest thing...
I felt good when it was done.
On some level there was a sense of satisfaction - a sense of accomplishment.
I can't quite figure out why, because I honestly knew it was a waste of time. Weird.
Later I began to feel guilty when I did go out - because I was afraid that if I placed a mag with someone there was a chance they may "come in to the truth" and then refuse a blood transfusion and die - leaving their kids to fend for themselves.
That's why I don't go out anymore. And I encourage my book study group to take care of other responsibilities. I remind them that field service is voluntary. Our book study hour average has gone from 15 hours to 7 since my take over. For that I am damn proud.
But it is not enough....

Knocking is a weak representation of reality...
it totally ignores the dark and seedy side of the JW culture.
I heard that someone from Canada is doing a documentary to counter the knocking video... does anyone have any details about this?

so it's been a month since my detailed letter was sent to the watchtower service department.
i sent the letter through dhl delivery, so that it could be tracked.
as of today, they still deny recieving the letter.

Love your posts in general but this one is near and dear to my heart.
Being kind is VERY IMPORTANT! It does throw them off. As you intimate, they kind of expect any thoughtful objections to "the truth" to be wrapped in spite and hateful Satanic-like ferocity.
If you make your points in a calm, kind, and respectful manner - it really does throw them for a loop. As soon as you sound sarcastic, or like you are in attack mode a strange thing happens....
Their defense mechanism kicks in. You are identified as a persecutor. They assume the role of the victim. The true Christian martyr. The suffererer for righteousness sake. And then nothing you say carries any more weight in their brain washed minds. It is immediately discarded. Their focus is on "standing firm".
If you stay cool and say stuff like.... "I understand why you feel that way given what has been taught over the years in the WT, but have you ever considered why....blah blah" Take a page out of the reasoning book and turn it around on them - it really makes their head spin,,,,and hopefully enough to shake off at least of the some of the powerful brainwashing. You have to tread carefully. Do not say anything to trigger their defense mechanism.
